Our Story
Marden Pre‑school first opened its doors in 1992, serving families in the village of Marden and the wider Herefordshire community
https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/16/223562. In October 2024, we proudly re‑registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), marking a new chapter in our long‑standing commitment to high‑quality early years education.
We are based within Marden Community Centre, sharing the site with Marden Primary Academy. Our setting includes two well‑equipped indoor rooms and a rich outdoor environment that encourages exploration, curiosity and independence.
We are open Monday to Friday, 7.30am–5.30pm during term time, with flexible holiday provision that adapts to parents’ work commitments and demand for holiday club places.
At Marden Pre‑school, children learn in a safe, secure and enabling environment, both indoors and outdoors. We offer exciting, enjoyable activities that support emotional wellbeing, intellectual development and lifelong learning. Children are encouraged to assess and manage risk, helping them build confidence and resilience.
Our outdoor area includes a much‑loved mud kitchen, along with a range of recycled and open‑ended materials that we rotate to spark imagination — from drainpipes for water, cars and balls, to pots, pans and wooden spoons for sound exploration.
We are fully accessible, with wheelchair access and a disabled adult toilet, and we are committed to supporting children with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring every child can thrive.
